Well they closed down the mithril-mine in Moria late that month
Gloin went out looking for a job, but he couldn't find none
He came home to drunk from mixing lembas with wine
got an axe, killed an elf and now they call him Dwarfy 999

Down in the part of the wood where if you are a dwarf you just don't stop
he was waving his axe around, threthening to chop his top
but when a Rivendell-Elf snuck up on him from behind
outside the Fingolfin Pub they slipped their ropes on Dwarfy 999

The Council supplied a public defender, but the judge was Elrond the Wise
He came in to the courtroom, stared into poor Gloin's eyes
Well the evidence is clear, gonna let the sentence, dwarf, fit the crime
ninehundredninetyeight and a year we'll call it even Dwarfy 999

A fistfight broke out in the courtroom, they dragged Gloin's girl away by the hair
His momma stood up and shouted; Elrond don't you dare!
Well Gloin do you got any statement's for us prepared
before the elfguards come to forever cut off your beard

Now elf, elf i've got debt's no honest dwarf could pay
I lost my money and house in a poker game with Durin's bane
Now I've never said that Galadriel is not fine
But I lost control when that elf was staring at that beard of mine

Now you're elf, I do believe I'd be better off dead
than to spend the rest of my life in elfprison like you just said
So sit back in that chair and think it over just one more time
let them cut off my head and bury me in the Moria mines
